Fiberglass Horsetail

Fiberglass Cross Section

Providing unparalleled strength and stability for boats, automotive and performance products, fiberglass can withstand the most extreme weather conditions and is impervious to water.

The manufacturing process for fiberglass windows is different from traditional application. Accurate Dorwin Windows are created using a pultrusion process. Glass fibers are coated in a thermoset resin and pulled through a hot die the shape of the frame or sash profile. They are pulled through the die rather than pushed or extruded through the die-hence the term pultrusion.

Heat cures the fiberglass resin to form a permanent shape, which can't be reformed by any environmental conditions. Its strength allows for narrower frames that provide a larger window viewing area.
